Warrington Central Station with its two unassuming platforms is a standard of functional design for catching the something past six Transpennine Service. The early morning chill is offset by the station’s straightforward amenities: clean facilities, a newsagent, and a coffee stall. Its architecture, a blend of practicality and modest charm, complements the layout. Efficiency reigns supreme here, making one almost forgive the romance of train travel for the sheer thrill of predictability.
The Northern train stopped at Warrington Central while I stopped at Warrington West instead from Liverpool Lime Street.
Nice station quite modern entrance has toilets nice and clean inside 👌 …
Train station is ok, just the guards. My son travelling from Liverpool to Manchester with the appropriate ticket caught the wrong train and arrived here. A bit distressed, he asked me to collect him from this station. The Northern Line Guard, instead of advising him to continue to Manchester, and without a warning issued him a penalty notice for £56, rising to £112. When I arrived the guard had gone on lunch although it was nearly 4pm, the staff were unhelpful only stating to appeal using the tel number on the penalty notice. This was a fob off, as the number was the automated payment line.. Not very nice to young people.
Morning staff who open up are the most rudest staff you can imagine.
One in particular, deliberately always opens as late as possible, like he's on a complete power trip and just loves making people wait.
Every morning it's the same old story by these staff members on seeing the tickets (even though they know we have them) but at same time always let certain ones go through without checking.
If it wasn't for the fact I needed this station to get to work, I wouldn't use it .
Also, this company is an absolute joke with trains running on time or being delayed.
A crowded, two platform station. Not the cleanest but not awful.
Coveniently close to the shopping centre and bus station.
My faith in mankind was restored by the kindness and generosity of your staff in attendance at Warrington Central on Thu 24/11 pm… Having missed my train to Sankey and mobile about to die, your employee came to my rescue and saved the day. Nothing was too much trouble - I’m so impressed by the level of service provided. Thank you, your kindness was so much appreciated.
To who this may concern, angry mum here.
My daughter planned to get the train before with a child’s ticket (she is 15) however this plan did not carry through due to some extremely ignorant and rude staff members. Not only were they turned away from the train line they were also not given a refund. Now you tell me how you would feel if your daughter was stranded in scruffy warrington with her 2 friends (who by the way are also 15) . I strongly feel as part of this community, really disappointed, as my fellow citizens would rather my child be in a vulnerable position rather than let her on the train for £2 less. Last time i checked the remaining money they had to pay did not come out of ur wage my darling. Now i feel appalled towards the rude woman who was behind the desk as she turned away my child and left her alone in an unfamiliar area (who by the way has autism and is unaware of her surroundings). This is not the world i want my daughter to be raised in. I really hope this never happens again to any other children as we never know what can happen nowadays.
yours sincerely
a concerned parent

*May i add while waiting for the bus, my daughters friend was being leered at and then soon approached by two dodgy men who were stronger, older and could of easily led to a much more serious and dangerous situation. They proceeded to ask private details like her phone number, which could really have affected her safety, luckily enough she was well aware and has been taught how to act in these situations. They were in a black siat with flat tires, damaged doors and alarm going off when attempting to get inside. When inside the vehicle they proceeded to stare, intimidate and blow kisses towards an underage vulnerable girl.
